The only time I have seen that done in a varsity game was in bad weather.

They did not. I've seen Mayfield do that when we played Fulton City.

This occurred in two Trinity varsity games this season-Seneca and Jeffersontown. In addition to running clock-the third and fourth quarters were 8 minutes.

 

I had it explained to me by athletic department personnel: if the other team asks, Trinity will agree to it.
