PRP vs. St. X Predictions

Featured Replies

St. X 33-17.

Seeing at how PRP just got smacked, I'll take St. X by about 3 TDs.

Me too. I also think that Manual will beat PRP, which will leave them clawing for the #4 spot in my opinion. Which would also likely garner a coach of the year vote for Nichols, in Louisville, IMO.

PRP gets a safety and goes up 2-0 when a blizzard hits forcing the game to be called. PRP wins 2-0

If I were PRP I would be praying to return the opening kickoff, and then a thunder storm comes in.

Manual will have to have a stellar performance against Male and the playoffs (which easily could mean a stellar performance against Male twice) to be nominated for Coach of the year, IMO. Although he has done very well with such a young, and fairly small (physical size-wise) squad.

I'm going to reserve my opinion of the Manual-PRP game for that thread on Saturday morning.

The more I think about this game, the more I think St. X will try and match Male's performance. But there will be more of a focus on Vic to dominate, whereas Doug was one of many weapons that Male used.

But because of such a need to bounce back, and because they're getting their QB back, I just don't see PRP being as flattened as they were with Male.

I'll say

X- 42

PRP- 14

I think this will be a much closer game then everyone is making it out to be.

I think you have hit upon the key element...the return of Josh Deacon at QB for the Panthers, who will have a major positive influence on their offensive firepower. For those who suffer from short memories, Deacon had a big game against a very experienced St. X. team last year, and the Tigers were lucky to escape with a narrow victory. With the exception of Anderson, O'Daniel, and Barito, all of that St. X. experience is gone this season, while most of that PRP team returns, aided by the addition of Ardis and Vincent who sat out last year. The Tigers will have their hands full this coming weekend. In no way do I expect a repeat of PRP's poor performance against Male last Friday.

This should be a very good, high scoring game. PRP has the QB back and wants to prove they can play with the big boys of the district. St.X needs to find an identity and begin the stretch run. If the Tigers find their passing game then the offense becomes hard to stop. The defense needs to start growing up and make big plays consistantly and eliminate mistakes.I think this could be the game to jump start the Tigers. Make it X-34 PRP-21

I've said it before, I don't think X's passing game is the problem; it's the receiving game that needs to be found. X was 4 for 7 last Friday against Manual. Granted 1 of the 3 missed passes was an interception, but the other 2 hit the receiver in the hands but weren't caught.

It's JMO, but, based on performance on the game field, not seeing them in practice, I don't think the recievers get enough reps at catching the ball. I see too many balls attempted to be caught by trapping, instead of using the hands. Again, JMO.

I agree if X puts it all together They run away with the game. Prediction X - 38, PRP - 14

Permit me to respectfully differ with you, BirdieCat. Speaking from an inside the program source, the recievers are not the "problem" (if there is a problem, since they are ranked either 1, 2, or 3 depending upon the poll you are partial to, and have faced a murderous schedule while dropping only one 11 minute game).Your observation concerning two dropped passes last week is accurate, but going in to the game aginst T, the starting QB was completing 68% of his passes, and he only threw a few in that truncated contest. This year's recieving corps is one of the swiftest and deepest in recent memory.

We Catholics are the world's greatest worrywarts. When our friends from Trinity lost to MBA, a team described by one of its fans as "a young, green team, and there are no legitimate DI A prospects in this MBA senior class, and likely few, if any, in the underclassman ranks. Trust me when I say this is not a very athletic team" Trinity's posters had similar concerns: "He threw it to a wide open reciever (in the end zone) who tried to use his pads to catch the ball, it bounced off him an into the arms of a defender" or "Trinity was out-coached the 2nd half" or "We also had some suspect assignments on defense". Despite this, the Rocks have recovered nicely and will do well this season as will St. X. (BTW, I am probably the king of the worrywarts).:D
