Oldham County vs. Seneca

Featured Replies

5A Oldham County travels to Louisville to face 6A Seneca this Friday.

Oldham (1-2) is just two touchdowns from being undefeated, having been upset by Henry County by 6 in OT to start the year on the road and then losing to #2 (4A) Collins, 28-21, last week. This appears to be a much-improved Oldham squad under first year coach Mike Fox. The Colonels will be hoping to get Daniel Calderon back at RB this week; he went out in the first half against North Oldham in week two, after rushing for over 80 yards in just one quarter, and did not play (apparently) last week vs. Collins. Erix Edwards is off to a solid start at QB, completing over 50% of his passes and sporting a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio early on. But the Colonels will have to defend the run better this week; last week there were way too many tackles by the safeties on a night when Oldham surrendered 314 yards on the ground. (Treyton Purvis for Oldham with a team-high 13 total tackles, and fellow safety Jacob Ratliff had nine...)

A win by Oldham would be huge...the Colonels haven't had a winning season since going 7-5 in 2010, and a victory would not only even Oldham's record at 2-2, it would put them in position to finish with a winning season as the Colonels would possibly be favored in 4 of their remaining 6 games...

I have been trying to do some research on Seneca, but have been unable to get any feedback from the coaches there.... Preston Smith, like Mike Fox, is trying to rebuild a program. Smith is in his second year at the helm, and is trying to reverse a long slide....The Redhawks have lost 27 of their last 28 games, dating back to 2014. They are 0-3 to start this season, with a 52-0 loss to highly-ranked Fern Creek, a 42-8 loss to Moore (3-1), and a 39-14 defeat last week at the hands of Southern (1-3). This will be the second game of a five-game homestand for Seneca - all five of their home games come during this stretch - and the Redhawks will be looking for their first home win since a 40-23 win over Eastern at home on 9/19/14 - nearly three years ago.

Pegasus will be broadcasting this Friday's game, beginning at 7 pm.

Does anybody know anything about the Redhawks?

Does anybody know anything about the Redhawks?

They're not very good and Oldham Co should roll in this one.

CORRECTION ON TIME: Kickoff is at 7 pm.

What I could find is this:

VS Fern Creek:

55 Rushing Yards

7 Passing Yards

VS Moore

60 Rushing Yards

91 Passing Yards

VS Southern

143 Rushing Yards

50 Passing Yards

Seneca is probably the worst team in Jefferson County at any level. Oldham should roll.
