As rumors have been flying around and recently been confirmed that Hazards Running Back Cory Smith is done for the season with an torn ACL. What's your thoughts?

I never underestimate Hazard. As good as Smith is, there are many other very good players on that team and many are back from last year's state runner-up team. Coach Dixon will find a way to adapt. But, are they still the favorite in the east? For now I will say yes. They have a week to work on things with the bye this week. Let's see how they look against Prestonsburg in a couple weeks before we pass the favorite tag on to someone else.

I also just confirmed his brother is out as well with a torn ACL. Both will have surgery next week.

Very unfortunate set of injuries for the Bulldogs.

Without Smith at HB, it'd be hard to say Hazard would be favored over Paintsville. Guess we'll see in a few weeks as these two will face off.

Prayers to both those young men.

Wow. That is unbelievable. Best wishes to both.

Geez, that's terrible news for that family. Is Cory's brother a starter?

In the coming weeks, we'll get to see where Hazard stands in the East. Pikeville's coming up on the 29th and they've got Paintsville on October 13th. Worst case scenario, they're still a legit contender to get to Kroger Field.

Yes it is. They have also had a starting guard who hasn't even played yet and he's been out since the North Laurel scrimmage. So the injury bug has hot hard.

Yes twins I believe. He started on both offensive and defensive lines.

Yes we will. Hazards defense is still okay but it did make them shuffle kids around.
