Congratulations to Ashland on the win.

My thoughts, Ashland played pretty dang well on D after the first drive. Penalties really aided Russell on some of their drives and the only other score. Ashland offense is a work in progress. Have some nice pieces but just looks out of sync. Some of it had to do with that Russell D. Russell's offense outside of that first drive is as bad as I've seen a Devils team have in awhile. Russell and Ashland both offensively are about the same team but Ashland has the better playmakers.

Both of these teams need work, Russell just needs a little more than Ashland.

The OL is having all sorts of issues. No running game tonight and Church was constantly under pressure. With three returning starters, the OL was supposed to be a strength of this team. That hasn't been the case so far.

There were some positives, though. Moving John Giles from middle LBer to DE looks like a good move. He played well tonight. Bobby Hale looked good, especially considering that this was his first significant action of the season. He can only improve from here.

What's most important is that the team does the little things week after week to get better. Next week is another opportunity to do that.

Did anyone see that hit on the kickoff? Those are the kind of hits that make you think twice about even having them!
