South Warren moved up to 5A and behind QB Gavin Spurrier, the Spartans are undefeated at 3-0. The schedule has been favorable for South Warren with two of the wins over winless Hopkinsville and Warren Central. Now they measure up against the 6A Bruins.

Central Hardin is 2-1 losing to Christian Academy of Louisville 0-15 in the Friday night rain.

The Bruins wins are over Northeast (TN) and Bullitt East.

A big question for this game may be the field conditions at Central Hardin. Did the field get torn up last Friday night in the heavy rains from Hurricane Harvey.

Enough with the field conditions from Friday night. The field will be fine, comes down to Xs and Os, execution and the key, I believe will be if Central Hardin can move the ball on the South Warren defense. Central Hardin has a stout defense and can make this a low scoring game.

HCP, I am really interested in this game.

1. I think South will try to test your DBs. If they can stand up to the early aerial attack then advantage Central Hardin. If they can't, it's the other way around.

2. Concerning South's D, job #1 is finding Jacob Lacey and not running right at him. South has made their bread and butter from stopping the run. The reason Franklin Simpson had success on them last year is that they developed a passing game too. Was impressed with Hobbs at the Rafferty's Bowl and the Bruins will need him big time in this game IMO to be able to pull out a W.

Overall, it should be a close game.

Central Hardin has had both starting safeties out due to injuries since the first game against NE Clarksville as well as 3 other starters who have been sidelined with injuries. Cautiously optimistic they can return this week.

Central Hardin seems to get into trouble when they are ineffective in their run game and have to resort to the wing T version of a passing game. Central was effective against Bullitt East, passing for 134 yards on 8-13 and 1 TD and will need that same production against South Warren as yards will be hard to come by on the ground in this contest.

Still looking for that signature win for Central Hardin. They seem to come up short in these big games. I have been impressed with Central Hardin's defense this year and their physicality up front. I think that Central Hardin will need to score in the 20s to win this contest. Another tough challenge against a run stopping defense.
