True blue (and gold) Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Update thread: http://bluegrasspreps.com/ky-football-high/raceland-west-carter-352043.html
oldrambler Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) ^ 35-0 was the final. Raceland dominated both lines of scrimmage and that was basically the story. Adkins had a good night running w/ 127 yds. The WLGC Stats were confused / scketchy at best. Raceland 's defense held WC to 6 first downs and the Rams still had some problems w / arm tackling. Any win is a good win but Raceland still has a long, long way to go. A very tough game coming up next week when Raceland host "that rival team from north on rt. 23" and should the Rams tackle like they did in the 1st half of this one then it's a GC Rout. DevilMayCare Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 This seemed like a very methodical win for Raceland. Nothing flashy, just very workmanlike. I think I credited Judd Adkins with 4 TDs in the update thread. One of those might have been scored by Dalton Adkins. All I know is, Adkins' found the end zone left and right tonight in Olive Hill.
JDEaston Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Nice bounce back win for my second favorite team in the state! Also it's good to hear that the Rams dominated the line of scrimmage, that was a big concern of mine for the Rams after watching how they faired last week against Ashland.
oldrambler Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 West Carter's QB is a good athlete, with the way that the Raceland D line / defense was putting pressure on, the Rams defense was in their backfield more than the WC backs, qb were. I think that I heard that Raceland held WC to something like 5 first downs w/ 20 yds. rushing for the game after subtracting all of the minus yards from getting to the qb.
