Strong showing from a shorthanded Hazard squad.

Excellent first game to see what your team was made of. Hazard got a tough opening test. Harlan County is good as advertised. They had a terrible 1st quarter and they got lucky to escape with just giving up 7. But they didn't panic and played defense like a good team should do. Several mistakes for both but far more mistakes for Harlan County that lead to scores. Hazard got 3 before halftime thanks to a bad snap over the head of the punter. Harlan County had a turn over on downs at the 50 that hazard eventually scores on with the tough running of Cory Smith. After that score both defenses were hard hitting the rest of the game. I was impressed with Hazard secondary not giving up anything and making the Quarterback just settle for a few yards on some runs.

 

I really hope to see both stay healthy as they should do damage come playoff time.
