Ashland struggles to run the ball and stop the run, forgot the game had even started until the 2nd half. Not a good combo for a successful season.

I had a feeling I should've picked Harlan to win, I admit I picked Ashland in the prediction thread though.

Anyone have any highlights / details on this one?

Someone said Harlan qb got hurt.

Bear of an opener: Harlan County handles Ashland, 49-28

BAXTER When a 28-point lead was cut to 14 in a six-minute span of the third quarter, Harlan County fans in attendance at Coal Miners Memorial Stadium on Saturday had to wonder if this could be a repeat of a season ago when the Black Bears made a habit of letting games get away in the fourth quarter on the way to a 4-7 season.

The Black Bears responded with two straight touchdowns on the way to perhaps the program’s most important win since the 2013 playoffs as they knocked off visiting Ashland, 49-28, in the season opener for both teams. The Tomcats entered as the fourth-ranked team in the state in Class 4A preseason polls.
