Winker

.273 AVG

.368 OBP

.777

24 games

2 HR

8 RBI

Has he earned the majority of starts once Schebler is ready to come back?

I'd stick him in the 1st or 2nd spot and let him hit the rest of the year.

We know what we have in Billy Hamilton at this point and he's not a lead-off hitter unfortunately.

I'm shocked they haven't slotted him in the lead-off slot yet. Actually, it's Price we're talking about, so no I'm not.

Winker not in the lineup again today....I really don't get why Price refuses to just play him every day.

If you are believer in WAR

Schebler's OWAR is 0.4 in 367 PA

Winker's OWAR is 0.3 in 76 PA

too small a sample size for Winker imo.

If he played for the Cubs, I bet you would adore him!!!

No I wouldn't. There's been plenty of Cubs I've not cared for. The guy is a tool.

Because he's twice the player Rizzo could ever dream to be.....:lol2:

While he is a little better than Rizzo, twice the player is a huge stretch. Rizzo is a more likable person and a better defensive first baseman. Votto is an arrogant jerk on a horrible team.

He was still offering at it. Just like when a guy is moving out of the way and fouls one off on accident.

Except it didn't hit his bat, it hit his leg, while he was trying to jump out of the way of a 95+ mph fastball. The slow motion replay clearly showed him dropping the bat down while jumping up to avoid being hit. I've never seen anyone offering at a bunt like that. Shoulda been a HBP. Oh well, Cubs still own the Reds.

You've interacted with Votto how many times?

Lester gets the Reds out on 6 pitches in the first. In the second, he throws 40+ as Cincy scores 8. A lot of bloop hits leading up to a 3 run blast by that scrub Votto. Mike Montgomery in to replace Lester, who leaves with the trainer.

Montgomery walks his first batter, Gennett. Then Irvin doubles into the gap, but Scooter thrown out at the plate to end the inning. 9-0 heading to the bottom of 2.

He was still in the position to offer at the pitch. Dropping it down means nothing. Sorry he didn't pull it back in time. He needs to work on that.

Cubs with 4 home runs off of Feldman. Fortunately 3 of them have been solo jobs.

Good grief...now they've gone back-to-back-to-back. What once was 9-0 is now 9-6.

Time to cut Feldman and let some of the young arms get some experience.
