October 1, 200619 yr Author The Commish's Picks for the Week Auxier RiverRats (2-1) at Florence Fighters (2-1) The Auxier RiverRats were in a great spot playing the Brush Creek Rusty Ankles without LT. They played a good game and came close, but a scoreless and injured Donte' Stallworth was to much to overcome as they lost their first game of the year 64-72. Florence Fighters were led by 33 points from Brian Westbrook on their way to an exciting 81-80 victory over the Ga. St. Prison Mean Machine. The series is tied at 1-1. The Fighters will not have Mike Alstott week because of the Bye, while the RiverRats will be at full strength. The Fighters are riding high on a two game winning streak, but that comes to an end as the RiverRats receivers unload and it isn’t even a fair fight. Rats return to the win column. Brush Creek Rusty Ankles (2-1) at Ga. St. Prison Mean Machine (1-2) The Brush Creek Rusty Ankles were without LT due to the bye week and were able to hang on with the help of 22 points from Donovan McNabb as they defeated The Auxier RiverRats 72-64. The Ga. St. Prison Mean Machine got a solid 73 point performance from 5 players, but were completely let down by the other 3 as they lost a heartbreaker to the Florence Fighters 80-81. The Mean Machine lead this series 2-1. The Mean Machine don’t have Eli Manning this week because of the Bye, while the Rusty Ankles are at full strength. This game has the leagues leading scoring team and a former league Champion. The Machine had to scramble Sunday morning to pick to a starting QB for the game and signed Damon Huard to fill in for Eli. A look down the Machines starting lineup and the first word that comes to mind is “OUCH”. The goal for the Machine today is to stay within 30 points. Crusty Ankles will win this one by a bunch. Kalamazoo Wings (1-2) at Richmond nWo Outsiders (0-3) The Kalamazoo Wings got 45 points from Peyton Manning and Javon Walker but only 19 from the rest of the team as they fell to the Southern KY SubVets 80-64. The Richmond nWo Outsiders continue to struggle to put points on the board in week three as they lost to the Grayson County Swamptrash 43-86. The series is tied at 1-1. The Wings don’t have Javon Walker this week because of the Bye, while the Outsiders have Najeh Davenport out. The Wings are starting Peyton Manning at QB while the Outsiders have Tom Brady. Manning has a big day and is the difference in this game as the Wings win by 15 points. Lexington Lumber (0-3) at Huggs Thuggs (2-1) The Lexington Lumber had 5 players in double figures, but the remaining three didn’t come close to hold their end as they lost to the Paintsville Pythons 81-85 to fall to 0-3 for the third year in a row. The Huggs Thuggs leading scorer in week three was their kicker, that coupled with a 0 point production from two roster spots led the a 63-78 lost to the Louisville Legends The Thuggs lead this series 2-0. Both teams have no one out due to the Bye. The Lumbers GM and Coach came out and publicly conceded this game to the Thuggs. Which is baffling to me, because of paper, the Lumber are a 15 point favorite. Since the Administration has already given up it makes me want to follow suit, but I’ll still say Lumber by 6 points Paintsville Pythons (2-1) at Louisville Legends (1-2) Paintsville Pythons were led by a nice balanced attack as they received 71 points from five players in a 85-81 win over the Lexington Lumber. The Louisville Legends got a win lift with the return of Steve Smith, and that was enough to lift the team to a much needed win over the Huggs Thuggs 78-63. The Legends lead this series 2-1. The Pythons don’t have Tatum Bell, Plaxico Burress, or Jeremy Shockey this week because of the Bye, while the Legends are without TE Heath Miller. My first opinion is that the Pythons are missing to much this week, but I think that Larry Johnson will return to form and pick up the slack and lead the Snakes to a 3 point win. Southern KY SubVets (1-2) at Grayson County Swamptrash (1-2) The SubVets were glad to see Clinton Portis return to the game last week. His 27 points along with 20 from Jake Plummer were the spark that led the SubVets to their first win this year by beating the Kalamazoo Wings 84-64. The sleeping giant woke up in week three as the mighty Grayson County Swamptrash doubled the score of the Richmond nWo Outsiders winning 86-43. The SubVets lead this series 1-0. The SubVets don’t have Jake Plummer or Carnell Williams this week because of the Bye, while the Swamptrash have Hines Ward out for the Bye and Shaun Alexander out because of injury. The Swamptrash have the edge at QB and RB today as Daunte Culpepper and Ronnie Brown go into Houston and gets well. The SubVets have the edge at receiver but it will not be enough as the Grayson County trash the SubVets. West Kentucky Rams (2-1) at Shelby Cards (3-0) Willie Parker put up 26 points for the West Kentucky Rams, while Rex Grossman and Anquan Boldin combined for another 25 points, but didn’t get much help from the rest of the team as they lost to the Western Kentucky WarHogs 84-93. The Shelby Cards continue to roll in 2006 as they won their straight game in a 79-47 pouncing of the Sitka Stars. The Rams lead this series 3-0. The Rams don’t have Willie Parker this week because of the Bye, while the Cards are at full strength. This will be a close game. Jake Delhomme comes out and has a big game and the Cards win by less then 10 points. Western Kentucky WarHogs (2-1) at Sitka Stars (2-1) Western Kentucky WarHogs had only three players that did not score in double figures as they downed the West Kentucky Rams 93-84. The Sitka Stars forgot to show up in the week three game against the Shelby Cards and lost 47-79. The Stars lead this series 1-0. The Stars will not have Tiki Barber and Joey Galloway. Thie week because of the Bye, while the WarHogs will be at full strength. This game has the best QB match up of the week as Carson Palmer vs. Michael Vick and they combine for over 50 points. The WarHogs running game will be the difference today as they put up big numbers and win by 15 points.

Thanks for the heads up, though I'm not sure I would have done the same thing. Scratch the above Godot, I'd like to pickup Mark Breuner of the Texans instead of Davis.
