June 20, 20179 yr Woke up with a slight stomach ache on Friday and thought nothing of it. Fast forward to Saturday night at the football game. I had started feeling so bad, with the stomach feeling like it was getting twisted inside out. Stopped by Walmart on my way home from the game, for a emergency rest room stop. Felt horrible all of Sunday and decided Monday morning it was time to hit urgent care. Doctor said they were not equipped to do what I needed done, so it was off to the emergency room I went. Results My Colon is infected and swelled up, causing bright red blood in my stool, and the pain in the stomach I am having. I was dehydrated and a stone in my gallbladder and my white cell count is high. Today is the first day I have been able to stay awake for any time at all.
June 20, 20179 yr Yikes NCF. Doc thinking you'll need gall bladder removal? Would that also cause your colon infection? I had a bout similar but without gallstones and was diagnosed with diverticulitis.
June 20, 20179 yr Sorry NCF!! Hope you feel better soon, and yeah, maybe you should get your gall bladder removed?! It’s pretty good to make it to June before you go to DR. We’ve had a much healthier year vs. last year – last year our deductible was maxed by this time…. 1 trip to ER, 1 surgery, and multiple tests/specialists for one of the kids. This year we’ve hardly touched it, knock on wood, throw salt over shoulder, sign of the cross….. lol, etc. Keep us posted!
June 22, 20179 yr Author Update Yesterday the pain dropped to a three and I ate hot food for the first time since Saturday. At night the pain came back worse than it ever was and I was losing up that the antibiotics was not doing to work. I went back to sleep at 9:30 or so and woke up today at 6:30am. The pain is there but its probably about a 2. I took a number two and for the first time since Friday it was solid, with no blood. The blood in the stool stopped Tuesday. I have an appetite but still no energy at all.
