LCA 33 Bath Co. 8

I always felt like if you have a good passing game already - a wet or muddy field only helps because that is one more step you gain on the defense. I doubt Rains was planning on throwing much regardless of conditions.

BTB

It HAS changed this year...the TOP 4 teams in our DISTRICT play for the DISTRICT TITLE in a 4-team seeded (by District records) playoff which then feeds into the REGIONAL TITLE game.

So, #1 plays #4 & #2 plays #3 - with the winners advancing to the DISTRICT TITLE game and then that winner goes to the Regional Title game.

Thanks Eye,

I see the District shaping up like this:

Lexington Chistian

Raceland

Bath

Paris

It hinges on this Friday Bath and Paris match up. And that game may be decided on Stevens' health and whether or not Dumphord want to play every other play or every fifth play.

I still say Bath matches up better with LCA on a dry field rather than Raceland.

By the way, in two weeks when Raceland travels to Bath Co. they may have to play in the parking lot - that field took a beating Friday night - it didn't have a good stand of turf to begin with - being constructed earlier this year.

BTB, LCA played a great game against Raceland but you did not see the Raceland team that we are accustomed to seeing (LCA had a lot to do with (that)I guarante you they are a much better team than what they displayed.

When Raceland clicks on all cylinders they are a hard matchup for anyone. The kids at Raceland are hungry after the loss to LCA and will play in the street if they have to.

:thumb: Well said cville! Raceland got by the week before with a "W" vs. GCHS with a sub par performance and then has another vs. LCA and lost.As you stated LCA did have a lot to do with it and deserved the win on that night. Imo those two weeks have awaken the "sleeping Ram" so to speak. Raceland will play anyone, anytime at any place. :thumb:

I think that BTB meant that Bath Co. matches up with LCA better on a dry field than they do with Raceland. I know that everyone in the Bath program has the utmost respect for the Ram program. We have had some good battles over the years. That is, before we hit bottom. I think we are headed in the right direction. All I know is that the Cats really need this one at Paris! It should be a great contest.

:thumb: We appreciate the respect from the Bath County program and believe me the feelings are mutual. Bath County has been a thorn in the side for the Rams on more than one occasion. You have not hit bottom only a down year here and there, that is part of Class A football. You guys have made huge improvements in just a year and we certainly do take you as a serious threat. Good luck to you against the Greyhounds and prayers sent for all your injured players.

Let me be another Rambler that says that raceland has all the respect in the world for Bath. You are so right about the battles in the past. Bath Co. always played a tough hard hitting brand of football. Good luck at Paris and we will see you in a couple of weeks.

:thumb: Belive me that thorn was in a location other than our side a few times!:D   :D

Hey BC CAT,

Is #42 okay? I dont think I saw him back in the game after he was hurt...

Aslo, I assume #3 will be good to go this week against Paris?

Thanks and we will pray fro healing for those kids.

Thanks for your concerns E/E. Congrats on the win Friday night. I hope we meet again this season. Good luck the rest of the way.

#42 and #3 are fine they both are tough kids and will be 100% and ready to go against Paris. As you could tell, we definitely need them on the field.

BC Cat - great news about your kids being healthy!

Good luck this week with Paris - it sounds like they are the team to beat within the DIstrict right now...they are Senior-loaded and have their Offense clicking right now - and they are FAST!

Iron out your panties Old Rambler - I was saying Bath matches up with LCA better than Bath matches up with Raceland. Just giving the Rams some credit.

Eagle Eye - they did take #42 Denkins to the hospitol for some test but all is OK. He took a pretty good hit to the head. Steven #3 took a shot to the side of the knee and bruised it up - the UK trainer looked him over pretty good at halftime and ran him through some drills. He said it was simply a bruise and Stevens said it got pretty sore in the second half.

BTB,

Thanks for the details on the kids - again, we are VERY glad nothing serious hurt...

The NEW District Playoffs will give all of us "arm-chair" coaches more to talk about wont it! ;)

It will be interesting to see how teams play each other the 2nd time around...that is when the Coaching and the talent really get tested, huh?!

This is really looking like an interesting year for our District and I really hope our District representative, whoever that may be, gets out of the REGION this year!
