April 6, 20179 yr He'll never be as good as Bobby Hurley. Bobby Hurley's NBA career can't be accurately evaluated because of the car wreck that ended his career. Very true about the accident etc. but his style of play kind of reminded me of Hurley because both would go 100mph. Although Hurley when he played was one of the best PG's in college...I hated him lol but he was good.

Best Duke PG I have seen play. Loved his moxie.

Loved his moxie.They had an interview with him in espn during the anniversary of the UK Duke game I watched. It was very good. Loved hearing him talk about his relationship with Laetner as well as the rest of the Duke players and how they all had issues with Laetner etc. but the respect was always there.

I love the story about where Laettner was talking trash to him relentlessly during a pick up game and he nailed Laettner in the face with the basketball and took off running out of the gym.

I also love how at halftime of their finals game against Michigan I think it was when Laetner couldn't hit the side of a barn in the first half, they get in the lockeroom and Hurley got all over Laetner which sparked his great 2nd half. When I heard that story it reminded me ofmthe Big Red Machine because many people don't know this but there were 2 groups in that clubhouse, there was Rose and Perez and the. There was Bench and Morgan. Although Morgan and Rose always got along and Perez and Bench always got along, there were 2 camps and those were led by Rose and Bench. Those two had a relationship like Hurley and Laetner, love hate. But when they were in the field they were as one. That was the big red machine to a tee.
