She is great high school player and a great kid. I remember she hurt her knee bad in middle school and battled back from that to be a very good player!

Darnell will step into the lead role next season. She had a chance to show what she's capable of on her own when Maggie missed time with her ankle injury earlier in the year and she looked like a top 5 player in the 16th Region.

 

But you're right, Maggie J is going to be hard to replace. She's an all-time great at Russell and always showed up big on the biggest stages, as evidenced by her performance tonight. Russell's going to have to develop another scoring threat to compliment Darnell next year the way Madison has complimented Maggie the last couple of seasons.

 

Congrats to the Lady Raiders on the win and congrats to the Lady Devils on another great season. Russell only loses two seniors in Jachimczuk and Alexis Maynard. Congrats to those girls on great careers.
