Adair County 100 Caverna 86

Featured Replies

I watched the first half in this one, and while I was impressed by Adair's scoring ability (not that scoring against Caverna is a tough task), I was less than impressed by how this game played out.

Do they even bother to play defense? Is this the Ky version of Chino Hills? I saw next to zero defense played in this game. They seemed content to let Caverna do whatever just so they could get the ball down the court on offense quicker. Not really a recipe for success in a region tournament where they will face teams that can actually play defense.

I can see John beating them as long as the Bulldogs avoid lulls in their intensity.

The thing I've noticed from this team this year is they play defense when they need to, pretty sure caverna was overlooked last night that's why it was so close. They got stops when needed to beat North Hardin earlier in season, I expect the defense to come to play Monday

I have to agree; there is no way this team played defense like they did last night and won as many games as they did this year. I think it was just a case of playing down to the competition. I do think the best chance that John has to pull the upset is on the glass. There were a lot of offensive rebounds that Caverna were able to get. This and the bench might be the only weakness I see in this team.

That's a nervous strategy to take come tournament time, though. I do think Adair is the best team in the 5th, but they'll have their hands full with John on Monday and North, Bardstown, Larue, or Taylor on Tuesday should they get that far.

Should be a close game no doubt. John Hardin will have to shoot the 3 well to win in my opinion, same for Adair.
