District 29 round 1 February 22 2017 South Oldham vs. Oldham County

Featured Replies

Second year coach Gene Heffington has folks buzzing in Crestwood again as the South Oldham Lady Dragons have reached 20 wins for the first time in a few years. Sydney Herold hasn't gotten a lot of 8th region love, but should. This rugged, blue collar player shoots well, hustles, rebounds, and can hit the three.

Oldham County has managed a .500 campaign in Chris Jefferson's first year as coach, despite an incredibly young team. Oldham features two senior starters, but the bench brings five freshmen and a sophomore up next.

The regular season battle was won handily by South. Has Oldham improved enough to challenge? The winner gets defending 8th region champ Trimble Co in the finals Friday at pm.

Col. Mike, please provide some post-game info on the contest. Was this a bit of a upset or not?

It was a tie ball game at half. Really good game, OC's Freshman Center was a big spark for them off the bench. Plenty of assists from the high post and plenty of offensive rebounds and put backs sparked the 2nd half run that pulled them away.

Probably and upset just because of the earlier meeting....but don't let South's record fool you. They have played an incredibly soft schedule.
