What Hinson's about to do, has it ever been done?

Featured Replies

Pretty much right, major sports, Basketball and Football, I believe has to be a teacher.

Mason County prefers you are a teacher but no law / rule states you have to be. When the girls position opened back a few years back when the Lady Royals hired Butcher, Jason Butler was being considered for the position and he isn't a teacher within the school system.

Didn't they interview Brian Miller for the position when Coach Biggs got the boys position?

You act like Mason County isn't one of the more prestigious jobs in the state, if they want someone bad enough, they'll get them. If Mason County were to come knocking offering Hinson a pay raise he would take it, bottom line. Believe it or not money talks.

*Was* one of the most prestigious jobs in the state

I thought it lost most of it's glamour around 2012. A lot of problems going on down there. Buddy Biggs IMO helped bring Ashland back and will with Mason County.

We can agree to disagree, however regardless it wouldn't matter because he doesn't have a degree which prevents Mason County from hiring him.

He does have a 4 yr degree, just doesn't have a teaching certificate. I don't see him wanting to go to Mason and leave his alma mater.

It still is one of the more appealing jobs in the state, the talent and support is there. All they need is the right person in the position.

Hes a solid coach, although I think he is often times hyped up a lot more than warranted. They will always have better candidates for the job at mason, that being said i expect him to win the 39th tomorrow.
