This Boyle County team may very well have 9 lives and they used in two of them this week. Yeesh. They keep finding ways to win and that is a sign of growth.

 

Ryan Young is doing a tremendous job at Garrard County. I mean a tremendous job. This Garrard team has gotten better even since the last time we saw them two weeks ago. Very impressive performance from Garrard County and they will be a problem going forward if they continue to grow as they are.

Parker Dailey finished with 32 points and 12 rebounds for Garrard County.

 

I don't have the stats in front of me but I think he had 4-6 blocked shots as well. He was 12-20 from the floor and 8-11 from the free throw line. No answer for him all night.

Reese Smith finished with 23 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal or two.

 

Will Bramel had 20 points and 6 rebounds before fouling out.

 

Baby J had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists a blocked shot and 2 steals.

 

Bryce Slone finished with 8 points tonight.

I'm trying to recall the action accurately but it is all running together right now. I'm worn out. :lol2:

 

Garrard County controlled this game in the first half. Boyle County took the lead in the third quarter and both teams exchanged leads the rest of the game. I believe Garrard County was up 5 with 28 seconds left in regulation when Boyle County was able to score an and one and on the next play they forced a turnover and was able to tie the score with about 2 seconds left to send it to OT. I think Grant Hotchkiss might have scored the game tying shot and was his only 2 points of the game.

 

I think that is how it happened. That may have been in the first OT though.

 

Garrard County got some good looks at a game winning score either in regulation or the first OT. Dailey had a layup roll in and out at the buzzer. It was unreal that he missed it. He made that shot on all night and it was literally a layup.

 

I can't remember the times and when it was. I just know it was crazy. Crazy game. Excellent atmosphere and thankfully my Rebels got another victory and still have a chance to get that #1 seed in the district.

45th is crazy. Yeah Lincoln has the advantage but Garrard (and Mr. Ryan Young) showed how to slow them down earlier this week.

We are very excited for the future.

Boyle really didn't deserve the win.....but they did.

Garrard really deserved the win.....but they didn't.

 

Ryan Young is a heck of a basketball coach and I hope the Rebels do not play Garrard again this year.
