Woww. Looking at the numbers, it appears that Hall was the one Bred that could really stand up the Colonels last night. Moeves is a key cog for NCC, and he only had 7? Off night? I know the kid can play!

 

Where did NCC struggle most?

Colonels were 24/45 (53%) for the game which is about their season average.

Hall is a tough matchup and CCH did a pretty good job on him. He hit some 3s late 2nd qtr, made some nice drives, and penetrated well. However, my guess is he was under 50%. A lot of challenged shots. CCH did a nice job on him overall.

 

The other 4 starters were ineffective offensively because CCH didn't give them many open looks and they're not strong at putting the ball on the floor.

 

As Scott said in the paper today, CCH wins with D.

 

NCC just had a lot of match up problems. Played hard. Just a bad matchup.

As one who loves good low-post moves let me give a shout out to Trey Wurtz. Dude went old man/old school on a move from the left block. Thing of beauty. It could be used for teaching bigs how to use your feet and the dribble to get easy shots. Plus he got fouled.

 

He has great post moves and can use either hand. I'd like to see him used more in the post like they did with his cousin, Drew McDonald. I don't think it's a coincidence they both have the same kind of moves, can use either hand, and are good passers. Maybe if the ball went inside more instead of bombing 3's they might get better looks going inside out.

Walters doesnt score a ton but he altered every shot that was taken inside and had several blocks. It reminded me of what Ben did to CCH last year. CCH has all the tools to win state.
