All State Baseball Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Final from Smokey Mountain Classic
The Professor Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 This score surprises me. Not so much that Corbin won but by the margin of victory. Perry is one of the best teams in the 14th, rated #1 by most observers. Maybe they just had a bad game. Either that or Corbin and the 13th region (Harlan Co beat Perry recently by around 6 on the Black Bears floor) is on a different level from the 14th this year.
ky playmaker Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 South Laurel beat perry today 72-55 and perry had their two 6 8 kids eligible today.

Well, if Perry Central is the top team in the 14th region their 3 recent losses to 13th region teams exposes the 14th as weak as water. My guess is the region will be a toss up between about 5 teams, but it doesn't appear the winner will make much noise once they get to Rupp.
Juke Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Is it true that the 2 bigs are now eligible for PCC?
The Professor Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Is it true that the 2 bigs are now eligible for PCC? That's what I heard. The KHSAA ruled them inelidigible but Perry went for an injunction and got it through a Franklin County judge. I think these two players are around 6'8. It will definitely make a difference for PCC once they get into the flow of things. However, they lost yesterday to South Laurel with the new guys playing.
ky playmaker Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Here is my problem as a coach. If you play both together it's a problem. They are not skilled and can't score against good teams. Not enough to win atleast. They both look the part
