Mr. Ramey for South Laurel was fantastic tonight, great all-around game....very impressed. :ylsuper:

Highlands needs to feed Finfrock every trip down the floor, too much of a load for anyone to handle.

South Laurel had a rough night get the ball to go in the hoop most of the night, but good Lord did they beat Highlands on the glass at both ends........would love to know the numbers.

The Birds were never really out of this game.

Bad stretch in the 2nd for the birds or this could have went either way. Once the birds get a taste of couple wins I think they could be a tough out for most teams.

Birds will be fine but Id sure like to see some offense that either feeds Finfrock or screens for him so he can flash to a block and catch it. Ince he has it 3-4 ft from the bucket he can score it.

Down 10 with over a min left and no screens for shooters was also noticed. Posey pretty much juked and jived to the hole for 2. In that situation you gotta get some 3's up.

Highlands Jr Griffin Huber played a whale of a game. He was a defensive force, scored a few nice buckets, rebounded and hustled his tail off. He also took a huge charge late after hitting 2 FT's. Sprinted down the floor and saved a bucket with the charge.

Traylor and LaFrange never really got going. If they can get those guys some good open looks I think they can be very affective.

Not a bad showing for Highlands but they need to win home games like that even if it is SL.

South Laurel is a very good team and well coached. They beat us by 10. Ramey had 11 but Grub had 20 against us.

Birds took Grubb out of the game as he picked up some bad fouls. He looked like he may not have been 100% also.

SL has some nice young talent.Ramey is a sophomore I believe and looks like about 6'3 with big-time hops. SL is well coached and they traveled well with fans which is always nice to see.

Good Luck to the Cardinals.

Jeff Davis is their coach, who was a assistant at Simon Kenton before taking the SL job.

The Birds are good and getting better. The wins are coming. Effort and hustle are there. I'd love to see screens set for Traylor for catch and shoots... He has a sweet stroke. Posey played well and cut down on the turnovers. Huber is a defensive monster.... Taking charges and causing turnovers... Opponent's best clearly annoyed by his tenacity last two games. Finfrock really tough inside... Great moves for a big man. Fun team to watch!

On a side note SL has some really good young players. I believe they started 2 freshman on their JV squad in Hostettler #4 and Cromer (blonde boy). Both are outstanding and even got some Varsity minutes.

I love highlands gym. It would be loud in that place if 2 mice got in a fight on Sunday morning in there. Lol. It was very good for south to play this game basically without grubb. The young kids didn't flip out in that environment Good to see.

SL lost to Boone today.
