December 4, 20169 yr Author Clemson sealed their place in the CFB Playoff with a shootout 42-35 W over VT. Tech kept coming back but as they have all season, Clemson stepped up with a big defensive play and/or offensive drive and score when needed. With the one exception.....all Clemson, Dabo Swinney does is win. Va Tech kept coming back as well. D. Watson was the game MVP tonight ....288 yds. pass, 85 yds. rush, 5 total TD's ! He will be in NYC, my fav to win the Heisman ...and that , my opinion + $1.00 will get you a cup of coffee at McDonalds. Edited December 4, 20169 yr by oldrambler

But, in your own opinion, would Penn State be in the top four? To be honest I don't see how you can leave them out. They are playing as well as anyone not named Alabama and have the hardware to show it.

I do believe that OSU is a better football team than PSU but as we both have said, PSU did beat them. The CFB panel is loaded with former coaches that know the game and they look at a lot of different things, not just head to head only. IMO they got the first two years right so I will have to trust them on this one. Will be interesting to see who they come up with.

IMO they got the first two years right so I will have to trust them on this one. Will be interesting to see who they come up with. To be honest, I don't like the idea of people that are affiliated with certain conferences being in a panel that selects the top four teams in the country either. Eventually there is going to come a time where politics within influence who gets in and who doesn't. This may be the year that it happens, or they may get it right again. But it's going to happen. More teams in the playoff would solve part of that problem.
December 4, 20169 yr I know you likely get it oldrambler, but for anyone that doesn't, I'm not trying to single any conference out in my thoughts. I just think your always going to have a ton of controversy if you only allow 4 teams to play in the playoff and conference championships are more less meaningless.
