mhighfield Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Good win for the Royals on the road,Morgan was a little short handed with some injuries .The Royals jumped out 26-0 at half and they cruised from there as they got some young guys some good playing time most of the 2ND half.Mason improves to 3-1 with 3 of the first 4 being on the road,But they return home next week for 4 of the final 6 being at home including Ashland,Lawrence and Johnson Central on senior nite.Couple areas of concern for the Royals even with the big win they had 4 turnovers and was flagged for 13 penalties.Good luck to Morgan the rest of the way and Frankfort is up next for Mason.
mhighfield Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 Morgan did have a great athelete at Qb and he seem to be injured in the 4th hope he is ok,Maybe morgan poster can let us know.
gold sunrise Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Congrats to Mason. With all the injuries Morgan will strugle this year. Henderson was the QB, but thought he was injuried, and wasn't playing. I am sure Nets will fill us in.

xyience Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Good win for Mason County. Morgan Co. really has struggled this year, they should be in the playoffs though.

Me too, know his parents well. He is a tuff kid, Hope Nets will shed some light on the situtation when he gets in from the game.
mcpapa Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Morgan County was completely overmatched in this one. Mason County was given a short field early in the game and capitalized. At no time did it look like Morgan would make a run at the Royals. Morgan's QB was athletic enough, but looked a lot better running than when trying to pass. I don't think that Mason County punted all night. Congrats to soph RB Thompson, who scored 3 TDs; QB Cox looks more confident each week. As MHighfield said, the Royals need to stop putting the ball on the ground. Most of the fumbles seem to be while struggling for that last little bit of yardage. Penalties were also frustrating. Good luck to the Royals next Friday; Frankfort will be an interesting matchup with their speed.

Nets Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Good to see several friends from Mason County at the game last night. Best of luck to Coach Buchanan and the Royals the rest of 2006... I was really impressed with #29 Tony Browning. He may be the best overall playmaker on both sides of the football for Mason County. Big, strong, athletic and makes plays. As for Morgan...they are battling. Despite the battles they have a positive outlook and are not down and out...they understand they have a real shot if they can get a little healthier to be favorites to win the majority of their games after the Russell game. #19 Wes Montgomery seemed to have a high ankle sprain, #1 Henderson may have reinjured himself, #44 Sophomore Brandon Ward has had shoulder issues for 2 years and he is ?. Cougars have their goals and eyes towards the Sorghum Bowl, the tradition rich bowl game for the Cougars is especially important because the Cougars haven't won their Sorghum Bowl in many years and were upset by West Carter two seasons ago...this year they play the same Comet team and all indications point to this game being a "possible" make or break game as far as playoff implications are concerned. Cougars can hopefully stay a float, battle the Red Devils in Flatwoods next Friday and then dig in for a favorable stretch, in which the Cougars will have a chance to get some WINS and start the trek toward a possible 3rd straight trip to the playoffs.
