Newport 13 Dayton 0

Featured Replies

Guess that 5-0 start won't happen but this one combined with the Bellevue and Ludlow scores tonight might mean Dayton should be right in the thick of the playoff hunt.

It was a great game and a heckuva defensive battle... Dayton gave up 1 big play the whole night on defense but aside from that their defense looked outstanding, as did Newports... Dayton's best chances came on a couple turnovers, and they didn't punch it in, and one long drive to start the second half that also ended in a turnover. Ultimately this game came down to not who played the better offensive game but who made less mistakes on that side of the ball and persevered once they did...

This is still a respective score for Dayton, they should be proud. The parity in Class A looks to be excellent.

I agree. I didnt predict Dayton to lose by 50 but I didnt think it would be this close either. Sounds like they are playing some good football over there, great for them they deserve it.

As for Newport, keep it up defense, your the heart and soul of the team. Offense your averaging about a field goal per game in points, you boys need to learn how to execute, and would one of you guys catch a dang ball.:irked:
