Open does that to us every season . After that was over it seemed to the kids that even if they didn't show up ....they still wouldn't lose. :irked:

Considering how down Fairview is due to lack of experience , several injuries i was surprised Raceland didn't have a running clock on us . I've seen Raceland play this year , & they're a lot better than what they showed tonight . I've seen Paintsville play also , they're outstanding . I feel Raceland could beat Paintsville , but better focused & ready to play , because if they play against Paintsville the way they did us tonight the Tigers will walk away with the district championship . Tonight Fairview had one 1st string OL playing as the other 4 were out with injuries . Fairview started one 1st stringer , two 2nd stringers , & two 3rd stringers on our OL tonight . Our entire starting DL was out tonight as well . RB/LB Ruggles wasn't supposed to play tonight but he played hurt anyways . Our other starting RB (Cook) who is the speedster that can run or catch from the RB position & also is our main KR/PR as well starts on D was out as he's gone for the year . My point being considering how down we were from injuries , & lack of experience , i really thought Raceland should have had a running clock on us before halftime regardless if Bailey played or not . Fairview's future is bright however . Sure will take our lumps this year , & next , but in 2018 we should be hard to beat . For example Alex Roy's brother will be a freshman next year , & he is basically Alex 2.0 , that kid has skills , but we have other talent coming up besides him as well .

Nice post Talon, I certainly agree on how Raceland played and actually it surprised me due to the rivalry. One comment I heard from the broadcast along with a number of our fans that were there and Coach Salmons post game interview was on how hard that the Eagles kids played. Even when down in the 4th qtr.. That's a sign of their attitude and a compliment to your kids.

We ran about 1/32 of our playbook, starting RB was out (to be fair, many teams would love to have a Judd Adkins as their starter, let alone their 2nd RB), no focus whatsoever. Each and every player in a Ram jersey last night left their "give a crap" at home. Looking ahead, very little concern as to if they COULD lose the game against the Eagles, DBs trying to make ints instead of focusing on knocking the ball down or a making a tackle and slow. That was what I saw out of the Rams last night. But they still managed a 5 td win.

 

This was the first time this season I have seen us go out and not smack people in the mouth offensively. I think alot of it was by design though. Hopefully we are at our best next week.

The RAMS will be fine come Friday. The coaches will have a good plan, & the game will be a war. Our kids know what's at stake.

Here is the crazy thing; we ran a basic offense and put up 39 points. Our defense allowed 2 yards rushing and 116 yards passing, (over 100 on 2 plays). I think because it was a practice field like atmosphere on the field and from the stands, it's easy to say we didn't play well. I will agree with an earlier post, we looked slow tonight. I have thought we played a lot faster this year until last night. Maybe that was from the lack of adrenaline and lackluster crowd noise..... who knows???

A win is a win, but the team was not focused and had very little energy. They should've hung 60 plus on Fairview. I'm not sure how much longer Fairview will even have a football team. Their varsity numbers are atrocious and I've been told that their feeder system is way down.

If AK Steel doesn't re-open the Fairview school system will continue to have a $40,000 per month shortfall. I am hearing that may lead to a school closure and the kids being sent to Boyd County High School.

They will open soon enough, gonna need all the steel we can produce when our next president is elected. The only reason the place is even still idling right now is so that it can resume producing steel quickly in time of war.

Actually, it was -10 yards on 24 carries, and 12-18 for 132 yards passing for Fairview after I watched the film.
