October 12, 20169 yr Author I understand them being undefeated means you have to put them in the championship game. But as UKMF mentioned it was like leading the pigs to the slaughter house. That could've been a much more competitive national championship game between LSU and Bama for example which is why I love the new playoff system. LSU had 3 losses that year?

Yes they did, well one of the three was a bowl game another was to the future national champion, regardless they were lost by extremely small margins and I would put down a lot of money that they would've done something similar to ND that Alabama did to ND in the national championship. This isn't so much of a rip on ND as it is a rip on the old BCS system.

They wouldn't have played Bama first round. Also weird games happen, do you honestly think UofL is 43 points better than FSU? UofL is obviously better than FSU but not 43 points better. Bama was better than ND and if they played 10 times Bama would have won 10 times. But, I'm just playing devils advocate because I've been really bored all day. Haha
October 12, 20169 yr Notre Dame lives off their history, them making the BCS National Championship a few years back was a total joke. Why because you don't like Notre Dame? Based off of college football rules they deserved to be there more than other teams. If there was a playoff that year they would have been in that too. Bama during their championships have made a few teams look bad in the championship game or playoff game like MSU last year.
October 12, 20169 yr I'll simply say this. Anyone who watched Notre Dame play that season knew they were a fraud and would get demolished in that title game, undefeated or not. I'll simply say this. I will say a majority of top teams would have gotten embarrassed by Bama that year with a month to prepare. Similar to how Michigan State got destroyed by them last year with a month to prepare. Shoot I think the year before that Bama lost to LSU but got to play them in the title game for a rematch and Bama made them look bad in a 21 to 0 game after a month to prepare. People can use the argument that since they got beat bad that it showed they shouldn't have been there. However in reality I don't see any team putting up much of a fight that year with Bama having a month to prepare.
