October 3, 201610 yr All that you really need to know about this one was 3 turnovers by Cleveland on consecutive possessions in the second half. Went from a lead to a loss. First turnover was a fumble by the FB at the Washington 10 yrd line, or thereabouts. This guy was a TE in college and this was his first carry ever--in college or the NFL. Scoring drive over. Washington cashes in for 7 pts. Second turnover was a fumble in the 4th quarter by Duke Johnson. I kept waiting for the coaches to challenge it because it looked like Johnson came up with his own fumble. I was baffled why there was challenge. After the game, Hue Jackson was told by an official that the Redskins recovered the ball before Johnson had it and that it was reviewed upstairs. I don't think so, but you can't cough up the ball like that. Third turnover was near the end of the game and it was an interception on a pass from Kessler to Terrelle Pryor. When I saw this happen I thought it looked like the fault of the receiver more than that of the QB. On replay, I think this is the case even more so on two counts. Pryor should have been able to snatch this ball out of the air before Norman got to it. You feel the DB coming and you snatch the ball away, use your body to block the DBs path or something. The other thing is that Pryor ran a poor route that opened up a path for the DB to get to the ball. A better route and the DB can't cut in front of Pryor. These two errors can be chaulked up to Pryor being new at the WR position. If he had more experience this INT would not have happened. He's a great athlete but there is a steep learning curve when you switch positions this late in life. Isaiah Crowell has been producing on the ground this year. Yesterday he had 15 carries for 112 yrds. He always had the talent. Hue is giving him the opportunities becuse he knows what he is doing. I haven't mentioned the defense. They needed to make some stops in the fourth quarter but when the offense hands the ball over like that...
October 3, 201610 yr All turnovers are automatically reviewed. There was no reason at all for Hue to challenge the fumble. Cleveland will be lucky to win a game.

I think the fact that Cleveland has been in games and actually been winning shows they will eventually win a few. Hopefully it's not against the Bengals though.

The problem is that the official comes flying into the pile trying to separate players and then "sees" who has the ball and signals it to the Skins WHILE Duke Johnson is 2 yards away from her holding the ball in the air. What was the official "seeing" in order to make the call?

October 3, 201610 yr My point is, the play was already reviewed and upheld. I know. I'm just saying I don't know what the review process entails if they confirm the call while the other team is holding the ball. It's not like the official signaled before Johnson stood up with the ball. She was still digging trying to see who had the ball. I would think you would need to SEE the ball in order to make a determination as to possession.
October 4, 201610 yr Author I think the fact that Cleveland has been in games and actually been winning shows they will eventually win a few. Hopefully it's not against the Bengals though. I agree. I don't think they will be winless. They have had some success against the Bengals in recent years and they've been known to best their next opponent too.
October 4, 201610 yr To be 0-4 with no personnel, I have been impressed with Cleveland in how they battle each week.
