District 6 Class 3A?

Featured Replies

Anyone know what happens if a 4 team district only has 3 teams? I am seeing Belfry, Lawrence, & Pike Central as the only teams from that district. Sheldon Clark is showing as ineligible for district...

A 5th place team from another district will become the 4 seeg in that district.

Not so fast. Sometimes that is the case, but not in this case.

Sometimes. In 1A, the Raceland district has 3 teams but gets no replacement team as a 4 seed.

The 1 seed from the opposite district gets a bye.

Sheldon Clark dropped out of district play, leaving only 3 teams in Belfry's district.

When there is a 3 team district by design at the beginning of a scheduling cycle, then they normally do what All Tell suggested and take the 5th place team from the opposing district and make them the 4th place team in the shorthanded district.

Since this happened in the middle of a scheduling cycle, there was no provision to do that, and so the winner of District 5 will just get a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Looks like Russell will breeze through the district.

Hard to speculate who they will face in round 2. Those 2 vs 3 seed matchups in round 1 will be difficult to predict. At this point, it is going to be really tough to predict how each district will finish up. Belfry and Russell should both be the 1 seeds, but Lawrence, Pike Central, Fleming Co, West Carter and Bath County will be an interesting story to follow as the season progresses.

In district 5, that 4 seed gets to go to Belfry, but both 2 vs 3 seed games could be toss ups.

Winner of the Bath/Lewis game this week will be the #4 seed and earn the trip to Pond Creek.

Any chance Bath gives West Carter a game?

IMO...no.

Game was this last Friday.

Whoa I missed that @Cats3x , thanks. WC 25, Bath 14.

So this week's WC vs Fleming game should decide the 2/3 seeds and the Bath vs Lewis game should be for the 4th seed spot.

Unless Bath gives Fleming and upset, then all you know what breaks loose. My head hurts a little.
