I've watched every Michigan game and just because they haven't played a top 10 team yet, doesn't mean they aren't really good. The Wolverines have all the weapons to make a BCS bowl game this season.

Never said they couldn't be really good, I just personally haven't seen it yet and Michigan hasn't built up the resume to assume they are going to be good just because they are Michigan. That hasn't been the case in 10 years. I also disagree on the weapons. They have a good receiver, a great tight end, and a great but HIGHLY overrated Jabrill Peppers. Outside of that I'm not seeing the talent everyone keeps talking about.

:lol2: Jabrill Peppers overrated. :lol2:

Well, he's also got a couple Conference Championship games and a Super Bowl appearance on his resume too...I know, I know, that's NFL.

Completely different game. He had a loaded roster on defense for the few years he was in the NFL and a dynamic QB who played really well until the league figured out how to stop him. Then the talent depleted or left and he went 8-8 and was basically fired.

He is.

Who consistently does more with less talent than Dantonio? MSU isn't sending players to the draft they are sending them to the workforce. I think if Dantonio ever had some good talent MSU would have won a NC by now. Who would you put above him besides the 3 I already mentioned?

I could accept Jimbo and Swinney. Outside of those 6 coaches I think there is a pretty decent drop off.

I will admit his last 6 years have been very good, better than I'd have guessed after checking (63-16), after going 22-16 in his first three years. 85-32 is a solid first 9 years, to be sure, but I still believe this year will be a drop off from the last 3 spectacular seasons they had.

That said, the "more will less" for a guy responsible for getting the less, seems mind-boggling to me. He isn't coaching at a county high school dependent on who lives in the community, he is recruiting for a National University, so if he is getting less, it is on him.

I think he is very good, but the list of coaches I'd take over him would be MUCH LONGER than 3...especially if he can only recruit "less" to Michigan State. :Blackalien:

Most importantly, they have a great defense. They also have two very good running backs and a solid line on both sides of the ball. They also have two good receivers, not one. Averaging 52 points per game.

In the grand scheme of things, nothing. Which is exactly what Dantonio has done....

He has a Rose Bowl and a Cotton Bowl win with players around the caliber UK gets year in a year out. You can't recruit to Michigan State with Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Michigan getting all the great players in the area. He develops players as well as anyone in the country. Could he do this at a school like LSU per say where you are getting a top 5 recruiting class every year and players want to play right away, I don't know. But it works at Michigan State and its working REALLY well.

:lol2: Now you've gone off the deep end. Michigan State's talent is as bad as Kentucky's? :lol2:

Yeah, I was going to reply but there's no response to that.

Do they have a great defense? UCF absolutely gashed their D line and Colorado was gashing them through the air before their QB got hurt. You may be sold on the RB's, but I'm not. I tend to think Darboh is their only really good receiver. Chesson is ok, but not great imo. I'll give you Jake Butt though. That dude can play.

You do realize Colorado has a top 10-15 offense in the country, right?

Using 247 Sports Recruiting Rankings:

2016 Class: MSU 17, UK 34

2015 Class: MSU 22, UK 38

2014 Class: MSU 25, UK 22

2013 Class: MSU 35, UK 34

The recruiting classes would tend to say that I'm right. MSU may be better evaluators of talent, but the 'experts' think their talent level is pretty similar.

They are giving up 13.8 points per game.

Against a bunch of nobodies.
