hrcarrier
The Blue Jackets have them a good running back in Richardson. The Nicholas defense played very well in the second half. The fans and supporters in Carlisle have to feel great. I'm not sure, but I'd say this has to be one of, if not the best starts to a season for Nicholas County football. Mustang
The Brossart Mustangs threw an early game scare into the homestanding Nicholas County Bluejackets as Chase Keller completed a 47yard pass to Bryce Donnelly two minutes into the game and the Mustangs led quickly 7-0. Nicholas County answered on their first possession as Dalton Dailey carried the piggy 5 yards for a touchdown, the culmination of a 76 yard drive. The PAT was good and we were tied at 7s. The Mustangs made it an ask and answer quarter as Chase Keller scampered 41 yards to take a 13-7 lead. The PAT was unsuccessful. The quarter ended with the Stangs on top 13-7. Things appeared to get serious at the 9:12 point in the second quarter when the Mustangs struck again. Keller found his favorite target Donnelly on a 35 yard pass play for a Touchdown, Chase's 11th TD completion of the season and Donnelly's 7th touchdown reception of the season. The PAT was no good and the Mustangs pushed out to a 19-7 bulge. But the BlueJackets kept it close, scoring at the 2:42 mark of the second period as Zach Richardson the Nicholas County blue-chipper ran for 32 yards and paydirt. When the PAT attempt split the pipes the home team led 19-14, and when the Mustangs pushed the ball inside the 10 yard line in the shadow of the first-half wire, 19-14 remained the score at halftime. The second half was ALL Nicholas County. Brossart had the unenviable task of kicking off to the Jackets who ate up 8 minutes chewing up 66 yards for a 3 yard touchdown score by the quarterback Issac Fryman. The two-point conversion made it 22-18, and a one yard run at the :26 mark by Richardson gave the Jackets a 28-19 advantage The Mustangs had a total of three snaps in the third quarter, turning it over on a fumble in their only possession. Both teams would punch it in in the fourth quarter, the Jackets on a 3 yard Richardson run at the 2:05 mark and the Mustangs on the final play of the game when Chase Keller found Kory Quitter in the corner of the endzone, making it a final score of 35-25. Brossart will return home to Bob MIller Stadium next Friday night to play an independent game vs Ludlow, while the undefeated 6-0 Bluejackets host winless Berea. All In
Only saw first half of this game(thought it started at 7). 99.9% of the time i show up early at high school football games to watch both teams run their pre-game drills and then watch first half and leave anyway. Hard to sit thru a 3-4 hour high school game, when you show up early and have long drive. That being said, thought both teams looked good, was surprised Nicholas was so dominant on defense in the second half which is a huge credit too their coaching staff, make the necessary adjustments at half time and get it done. Brossart evidently was up to that challenge. Really like Fryman and Richardson for Nicholas and Keller for BB in what i saw in first half Nicholas Bracken Paris Brossart Berea
