Bowling Green gets a real test this week, will be similar to seasons past? Could the Purples take a loss? Who could move up after this week? Who could drop? What teams are on the outside looking in?

South Oldham is on a bye week. They host North Oldham on Sept 9th.

Interesting to see what Bowling Green does with St. X this week. LexCath gave St X all they could handle and Bowling Green is much better than LexCath. St. X should have a better first half showing this week. I think Cov Cath and Highlands both lose this week. I am not sure anyone in 5A could beat Sycamore or Scott Co except maybe Bowling Green, and I think Bowling Green would be the underdog in both matchups with Sycamore and Scott Co, especially Sycamore. I don't think CovCath or highlands should fall much with competitive losses here, especially CovCath playing Sycamore. I think the rest of the top 10 will win this week with ease

I doubt Bowling Green gets tested at all this year. They are scary good!

Sure anybody can lose? Remember the Graves County game? I sure do. But after speaking with some folks I trust in the program, I know for a fact they will be ready for this game. St X simply was knocking some of the rust off in the first half vs Lex Cath and I fully expect them to come in and play a very physical, hard fought game. It will come down to: can X defenders tackle in space and can X offense mix it up enough to keep all 11 BG defenders out of the box. We'll see.

Who could move up? I'm not predicting it, but don't sleep on Greenwood this week. South has always been good at stopping the run. They will certainly have to be this week to go 3 and 0.

Who is on the outside looking in? I like North Bullitt in that #11 spot. Their SO QB Conner Abnee (6 rushes for 115 yards and 3 TDs; 8 for 11 passing for 101 yards and 2 TDs) is maybe the most under rated player you can find in 5A. Yes Southern is not a world beater, but North went 9 and 3 last year losing 28-7 at Fern Creek in the 2nd Round of the playoffs. They won't have much this year for the Top 5, but 6 through 10 maybe.

Top 4 no argument.

5. South Oldham

6. Pulaski Co

7. Cov Cath

8. Highlands

9. Southwestern

10. Greenwood (not sure who was 11-13)

Seems as good as any. Really doesn't matter after No. 1.

Top 3 yes. Still not convinced about the Fern Creek offense. Haven't seen enough from them to show me top 4 ranking.
