Any scenario where a conference #2 makes playoffs?

There's no doubt Jones has got talent there. He's been stockpiling huge classes since he showed up in Knoxville. While he was close at Bama last year, the Vols had no business dropping those games to Arkansas and Florida. I see why people are high on them, but it seems like every year they just give a couple away. It was a problem for Jones at Cincinnati too.
Hell they shouldn't have dropped the game against Oklahoma up 17 either. I don't have supreme confidence in their ability to finish games, but I think they'll be able to fix a lot of their mistakes from last year and go into the SEC championship with 1 to 2 losses. A 2 loss SEC champ is getting in.

Agreed. In the current climate of NCAA Football, only way the SEC Champ gets left out is if there are four unbeaten champions from the other major conferences and even then I wouldn't bet on the committee leaving the SEC Champ out.

I know FSU has a lot of talent, but what about the QB? I'm not super sold on them yet, but we'll find out the first week if they are legit or not.

Nobody was "sold" on a redshirt freshman named Jameis Winston either....

Yeah but let's not mistake the outlier for the rule.

I'm not gonna claim this kid to do what Jameis did, but, there are ALOT of similarities. We shall see Monday vs Ole Miss

Well if he is anywhere near Jameis, with the talent in Tallahassee, they should be a title favorite.

In which they are. Should be a great year across the board

Only way I can see it is if Tennessee goes undefeated in the regular season only to lose in the SEC title game to 1 loss (to UT) Alabama.

See I'm not sure Tennesse would get the benefit of the doubt there. I think if the reverse happens it would be much more likely. If Bama knocks off Tennessee in regular season but lose to them in champ game I think they get in.
