When did the int'l. game go with the rectangular 3-second lane instead of the one that flared out at the baseline? (What is that---a trapezoid, rhombus, parallelogram, etc.---my high school geometry is failing me.)

This is a rule I would like to see in the NBA. I wouldn't want this to trickle down to the NCAA's or high school, though. It is tough enough to score at the lower levels, IMO.

The people who say that NBA teams don't play defense don't watch the NBA.
