Old Photo of original construction at Newport

Can anyone tell what that large wall (on the right) is in the distance? It doesn't look familiar.

The wall you see is the resevoir in Eden Park. It has since been torn down. When you cross the I-471 bridge, look up there to the fountain in Mirror Lake now.

In Cincinnati there is a viaduct that connects 5th Street downtown to Columbia Parkway. It has since been rebuilt when the I-471 highway was built. That is what you see in front of Mt. Adams. The Miami-Erie Canal used to run under that viaduct. It is now Eggelston Ave.
I was thinking it must be a viaduct; but couldn't place it. Thanks.

Okay now, you changed it on me! I liked your viaduct idea better.

Sorry, the viaduct I was thinking of would be further left in this photo and not visible from this angle. Where the resevoir was torn down is now softball fields. Part of the wall is still stnading, and people use it for rock climbing and repelling.

Nice picture Guru. May I ask what type of camera you used back then to take this pic?

Now, that wall, I do remember.
