McCreary's new coach gets off to a good start.

Any deatails on the game?

How Weird is this:

McCreary County 1-0

Corbin 0-1

Southwestern 0-1

Whiltey Co 0-1

Williamsburg 0-1

Pulaski Co 0-1

When was the last time (if ever) McCreary Could bost a better record than these schools? I know there is a big difference between Powell Co and the opponents each of these schools faced but it is still weird.

I would dare say that the end result of every team on your list will be better than the Raiders.....it is not where you start it is where you finish....McCreary is a program that has seen too many coaching changes over the years to maintain any consistency. I hope they put a good team on the field. But to compare them with any team on your list might be a little premature at this point. I think Wburg is the only team on the list that plays the Raiders. That might give us a good gauge as to how much improvement has taken place.

Wow, bust down the McCreary fan, huh? I think it was a tongue-in-cheek point describing the past futility at McCreary...even after only one game every season all of their neighbors have better records than them.

Congratulations to the Raiders. Is there any talk of moving back in district play next season?

You are right, I certianly believe that every team will have a better record, but I would bet that nobody would have taken a bet that it would have happened that MCHS had a better record even after one week.

McCreary Co. 1 - 0..... Great start and congratulations. Now make to two in a row......

I think they will enter district play next season. They play Oneida (TN) this coming Friday, which is an extremely good team from Tennessee. I think this will be a better year, possibly a winning year with the schedule they have in place. They are a pretty good offensive team, with stand-out basketball player Aaron Watts. They have a good receiever in Anthony Musgrove and runningback in Brandon "BJ" Duncan. Chris Hale, the quaterback is quite good and should only continue to improve.

Who wass the kid from Mc that got the award for best player of the game? For Powell Co it was #5, he broke his hand during the game, had it taped and went back in and finished the game.

Brandon Tucker was the player of the game for the Raiders. I do not know how long it has been since the Raiders have won their first game of the season, but the streak is over.... Great job Raiders. This Raiders team has alot of talent, and could make things happen in the future. They play at home the next two weeks, this week against Oneida, Tenn. and the following week against Williamsburg.

Yes I am hearing that the Raiders will play district football next year. I think that this McCreary team could end with a 7-3 or 6-4 record, don't underestimate the underdogs.

McCreary will no doubt be a better team this year. I was talking to quarterback Chris Hale about the up-coming game with Oneida today and it's possible that if McCreary can complete enough of their passes, they'll beat Oneida. Hale went 1-for-12 against Powell, but 8 or 9 of them could have been caught. This is a talented team and I would anticipate a winning season from the Raiders. Yes, they will play in a district next year.

I wouldn't call Oneida an "extremely good team". They lost AT HOME to Williamsburg last year and the Jackets missed the single A playoffs in Kentucky. I think Onieda is an average team at best.

I don't know about last year, but in the past 5-10 years, they've been one of the top teams in Tennessee, or atleast central/northern Tennessee. They are 1-0 as of this year.

I am hearing that with the win last week, some players came out that use to play football for the Raiders, if this is true, you can add some more talent to an already talented team. Now the question is can all this talent come together and play as one? Only time will tell. Good Luck Raiders and I will see you at the Oneida Game.
