He was fleeing. If he'd hit him with the tire iron to fend him off, fair enough on acting in defense.

 

But this dude went after the guy and hunted him down and beat him to death as he was running away.

 

We have laws and you don't get to break them to exact vengeance on bad people.

 

I have to admit I would probably do something similar if he had attempted to violate my wife. The law would be the last thing on my mind. However I would have tried to beat him so bad he would have wished I eliminated him. And yes, probably be so angry I would have chased him.

He ended up getting charged with two counts of assault instead of manslaughter. It will be interesting to see if the Grand Jury sends the case for trial.
