39th District Tournament DRAW

Featured Replies

The 39th district tournament draw was today and Mason County will play Bracken County and Augusta will play St. Patrick's. Tournament is being held at Augusta.

St. Pat and Augusta voted blind draw. Need a majority.

It's a terrible draw for MC and BC.

Nothing new here...blind draws make everyone happy

You must not have read the Basketball threads!

I voiced my opinion in the baseball thread, exact same thing applies here.

Seeding is better if you want the best teams to advance to the region; absolutely. However, I will always be a proponent of letting each district decide what's best for them.

So I guess the KHSAA allows any team to play in district tournaments, even if they play one game a month? This is a joke and Bracken and Mason to me have earned the right to represent the district in the regional tournament. Not teams that have played a combined 12 games and have been outscored 175-28 in those games. Be prepared for a 30/40-0 drubbing by Campbell or Bourbon County.

For reference...St. Pat has scored 19 runs all year (7 games). 17 of those runs were against Robertson County (17-12 win). Robertson County in their only win of the year beat Augusta 25-3. Augusta has given up 87 runs in 5 games.

IMO the only reason Augusta is playing this year is so they can host the district games and generate a little revenue. Why don't the bigger schools just vote to give them $500 each and move on?
