April 25, 201610 yr Author Wasn't Kobe coaching them this year? Nope because Kobe loves The Kids and would have let them play. Byron only loved Larry Nance and Larry Nance loved Byron. So far Larry Nance is the only Laker I have seen go on record in support of Byron. The one time Kobe did coach the team is when they were in Minny and beat the Wolves in OT after Kobe told Byron he wasn't going back in the game and to let The Kids finish it. That was the D'Angelo Russell Ice In My Veins game.
