Mason jumped out to a big lead and cruised from there.

This is unfortunate. The real district championship was the Mason-Bracken matchup two nights before. Any person who thinks otherwise is delusional. I'll be anticipating a response from a particular person. They'll just be wasting their time.

Not a lot you can say about this game but I will make one comment about the post game activities. It was pretty disappointing to see Mason County fans file out of the Igloo following the boys loss to Augusta instead of sticking around to see their girls cut their net down. A team that should be favored to repeat as 10th region champions deserves much better. Good luck to the Lady Royals next week.

I stayed and watched the girls and even got a piece of the net.

I definitely think it should not have been expected with the victory that Augusta boys just had over MC. Augusta fans were all over the court. It probably was better that we did not have a large contingent of MC and Augusta fans on the court at the same time.

 

And there really wasn't any sort of "ceremony" for the girls net cutting anyway. Basically just set the ladder up and put a pair of scissors on the ladder. I don't think anyone from the district tournament even congratulated MC on the win or said anything to the team. The girls had plenty of family and friend support to celebrate their victory with them. Now if they win the Region I would hope there would be a much larger contingent of fans that would stick around for it.

This is why you have them on two different nights. Or allow nets to be cut in between games which can get lengthy. Play the finals Thursday and Friday and you solve a lot of issues. Also, can't forget... SEED THE DISTRICT!
