Friday evening update:

 

There looks to be wide spread 3-5" through Tuesday morning. SEKY, EKY and parts of Central Ky could get 4-6". I wouldn't be surprised to see over 6" in that SE part of the state. As of now the heaviest snow is looking to fall in area from around Lexington towards the southeast.

 

There also seems to be an area from around Bowling Green to Louisville to Lexington that may see some freezing rain/ice Monday afternoon before it turns back into snow.

 

A couple of things that I need to mention is that now the snow may start some time Sunday afternoon instead of Sunday night. Second, it seems likely we may actually get hit by two systems. So some of the snow totals I've mentioned may go higher. We'll have to wait and see if that actually happens.

 

Just to give some idea of what parts may get the heaviest snow. These probable totals are through 7 pm EST Monday night.

First lets talk about the light snow coming today. It looks to be mostly light accumulations for most maybe up to 1". It seems that some along the Ohio River may get 1-2". Paducah and Louisville are in that category. Cincinnati around 1/2".

 

Now for Monday. As I thought today would bring us the first looks at the possible snow accumulations. Now let me caution everyone. These are the first indications of any accumulations and they could go up or down. At this time I'm looking for the possible snow to continue into the day on Tuesday.

 

For now I'm seeing widespread 1-2" on the ground by rush hour Monday morning. There looks to be some pockets of heavier snow 2-4". One is centered around Willisburg and the Springfield, Harrodsburg area. Then another one from around Paris to Mt. Sterling and Sandy Hook. The third one is in EKY. From around Inez to around Pineville.

 

Also at this moment I'm not seeing much if any possibility of ice accumulations. That could change as we get closer.

You should be ok little or no chance of precipitation with highs from the mid 40s to mid 50s.

For now, I'm still like my predicted totals from last night. The one trend I'm not liking that I see this morning is the possible freeing rain/ice for WKY and parts of SEKY. I'm watching that closely and will post an update later today. The WPC has the entire state of Kentucky now with a chance of at least 4" of snow. There is also now an area around the Louisville-Elizabethtown part of the state that seems to have a greater chance of 4"+.

 

I'll keep an eye on things and post updates later today. If the trend continues as I think it will more than likely I'll go into Winter Weather Threat mode this evening.

 

All I can say is Mrs. nWo has already gone to the store to get the bread and eggs. That should tell everyone something! :thumb:
