Wireman Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I'm just going to copy and paste what I posted on Facebook but I really want to give a shout out to a kid on my U10 soccer team. Needless to say...today was a very special day: I want to give a special shout out to my man Wyatt Fielder (goalie jersey). In 2014, Wyatt was diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage 3 Burkitt’s non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer. The cancer was present in multiple systems and I'm told that quite frankly, things didn't look great. Today, Wyatt started at goalie for our indoor soccer team in what was his first sporting event in more than 2 years. Wyatt was great today. He stopped multiple shots and won the game 3-1. Honestly, he would have had a shutout if not for a referee blunder. That's not what I love the most about Wyatt, though. What impresses me the most is that after the game, he spent 2 hours at the hospital speaking to other cancer patients about his path and what it meant to him to play for us today. Most importantly, he thanked God and gave Him all the glory. I'm impressed by kids like Wyatt Fielder. And now that it's clearly getting a little dusty in my house, I better click Post while I still can.
OlDog75 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 That was great. Sports, always give you hope.
