They will scrimmage this morning @ P'burg.......Hope to post details later.

Thanks Chico, I look forward to hearing about both these teams.

It will also be the first time anyone has been on the new grass...P'burg has not even practiced on it.

Isn't Perry County Central there as well?

I was under the impression the three teams were switching in and out with each other.

Yes you are correct but I will post more when I get back. Gotta run real quick but will be viewing this thread again later.

Ok this is what I know considering I left early so my information might be wrong so dont hold it against me. LOL

P'Burg interecepted a Boone Goldsmith pass and ran it back to the 4 and scored on the next play. Two offensive plays later LC scored on a run by FB Roberts up the middle. ( Thats all I have ) Pburg 7 LC 6 VARSITY

LC JV defeated P'Burg JV 34-7.

LC defeated Perry County Central 21-0. VARSITY

P'Burg scored twice from what I saw on PCC so Pburg 14 PCC 0. VARSITY

I left early so I am sure more things happened but this is all I know of. So please fill free to correct me or add more information where needed.

As far as LC, I think that the LC fans are feeling much better about this season's prospects. I think that the defense looked good and once the offense got "jellin" together, it started looking good. :sssh:

Remember you have two quarterbacks that have not worked with the older kids on the team much at all. They have to learn about their teammates. I think that I saw a team that was supportive of each other like we have not seen for a couple of years.

I do know that it was very hot and it did not appear that there were any significant injuries nor any heat related problems on any of the teams there. I don't think that any one team dominated today and it was probably a good learning experience for all of the teams there. The sportsmanship was excellent! :thumb:

How did the offense look better? I left somewhat early but how did it look against PCC and others???? When I was there they seemed to struggle somewhat.

They did start to look better toward the later part of the scrimmage. When Coty Roberts scored his 2nd touchdown (I think that this was against PCC??), Boone took it in for the 2 point conversion and he appeared to settled down and just looked more comfortable. Morgan was moving the ball. Acie Waller, Robert Butcher, and Jeff Cyrus really stepped up and caught some passes which looked good. I can't remember if those were all from Boone, but I think so. Mark Fitzpatrick appeared to get better with the option as well. They didn't get out of there until way after 2 (they rested the boys some in between scrimmages) so I am not sure what time you left, but overall they started looking more "smoother". I think they made some adjustments on the line as well.

They did appear to struggle at first and even up to the middle part of the scrimmage, but I think that all the boys started to get better (team wise) as the scrimmage progessed.

Ok great news to hear because I was a little discouraged when I left which was about 1 so to hear this makes me feel a little better.

My bad....Boone actually scored a touchdown. It was not a 2 point conversion.

I think the day of the Dawg is upon us. LOL

Glad to hear the Dawgs did well in the scrimmages, I know they don't mean alot but for LC it was huge to get the TEAM to play as a unit.

I totally agree and this team today from what I saw looked like a complete unit. Everyone was on the same page, Kyle Carter is going to be a force for the Dawgs this year.

I agree. Kyle Carter should have a special Senior year. The other seniors on the team will come to shine as well. Justin Staniford is a tough kid along with Shannon Emory, Robert Butcher, and Steven Carter. Morgan Roberts will be one to watch as well. I am going to try to go to the upcoming scrimmage this weekend. We should start seeing some more of the teamwork that we saw this past weekend.
