Is 2-A football in the western part of the state down so much that only one team is ranked? Or is it just better everywhere else?

It seems lately that every time a team from western Kentucky gets picked high in the rankings they fold when it comes to the playoffs. FortCampbell for example.

Successful football mindset in the east is tough , physical , run first football. From kids whose Dads likely still get dirty at work. Being closer to Ohio also influences the game in the east. Not sure about the game in the West ...

Lets see, you're saying that the East is tougher because 1) children of fathers who work in the coal mines, etc. are tougher than children of fathers who work in an office; 2) kids near Ohio feel more of a football "aura" than kids who live near Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, or Tennessee; 3) teams who "run first" are tougher than teams who like to throw.

I'm not sure its possible to have been any more offensive, or more importantly, incorrect. For instance, why can't the same Eastern teams from Class A, 3A and 4A beat anyone from North, Central, or Western Kentucky????

What language you typing there, chief ?:p

To answer the question, we discussed this in a thread a few weeks ago, 2A on the Western end will probably be down this season... but, it leaves open the possibility for a suprise team to emerge.

Key word is successful in the east. Some of the larger schools in the east have adopted spread passing with only one running back. Many of these are not as successful as they once were. When Ashland last won a state championship , they muscled it and mixed in the pass. Also many schools in Nothern and North Eastern Ky cross state boundaries and play physical Ohio and Ohio Valley - West Virginia Football teams.
