Feel the Bern! Is Bernie taking a page out of the Trump handbook?

I guess I'm just at the point that capitalism to me, as used in the context of politics, is a scary as socialism is apparently to you. The power of Corporate America over our political system and economic system is dangerous. There is no representation of the "common" man at the federal level. And it continually upsets me, genuinely upsets me, that so many normal, everyday people constantly rail against having basic, common decency safety nets in place for their fellow citizens. It genuinely upsets me that people have such a vitriolic rhetoric to spew with a broad brush, because they can't see that taking the minority of recipients of aid who abuse systems, and applying that perception to the whole is as crippling to the resolution of the issues as the abuse. Tired of the nasty tone of the debates. So, with that in mind, I'll happy declare myself socialist, because the alternative is to align myself with a group I find to be lacking in empathy.

I actually like a lot of this post RM. I am not a fan of a lot of guys in "big business". I think big business interests AND government have aligned themselves to put our country in the mess it is in. About the only thing I trust LESS than big business in this country is the government. The folks in Washington don't give a rat's behind about the people in this country for the most part...and that includes the most liberal democrats. They just say what sounds good to get voted. I will say that I actually agree with you and MF that Bernie is honest and consistent. He may actually believe that what he says would work. However, I could not disagree with him more and if you peel back his policies, he would be a total disaster. That is why there is no way that the Dems will let him be the party leader. The Dem establishment has done everything it can to make this a cakewalk for HRC but she is such a bad candidate that even a guy like Bernie can scare her a little. However, it will either be HRC or if she gets indicted, a new person not running now. My money is on Biden...
