Then you don't know many refs and Lawildcat says she knows many of them and if so would know they do, because I know of 3 for sure, and know I won't name them.

Name the top officials who scratch their alma mater. Exclude those that do so because they have children there.

I am not naming officials and they don't have children there.

It is true and its there choice for whatever reason but I know for a fact they do.

I am not anti refs just giving my opinion on some of the stuff I have seen.

Two items for you: if I had to guess, you are interacting with 3 people who know more officials than most regular posters on this board combined...so I would take their statements as pretty much gospel in this arena.

Second item: you said "you know refs don't do certain teams especially the high schools they attended come on you know that." which appears to be a statement of fact and it is not, in fact, a fact.

It is true that some officials scratch their alma mater, I don't know of any seasoned official that scratches their alma mater, in particular 20+ years out of school. The logistics of scheduling something like that are outrageous.

Officials do not choose their assignments and most all are very conscientious of conflict of interests. Policy Boards require disclosure and conflicts of interest to be in writing in many cases.

I'm glad you're not anti refs and value most everyone's opinion on this board. We're just here to educate those that don't really know what the true story is....hope this helped.

So if I'm a ref, I should scratch HHS because I attended there 30 years ago and have absolutely no ties to the school now? That's ridiculous but hey, way to throw the referees integrity under the bus.

If you knew anything about refereeing and the logistics of scheduling, you would know that your post makes no sense and is offensive since I have many, many friends who are refs. You are basically saying they are all cheaters.

In your case you should probably scratch because the cake icing would get on the ball and leave a mess....

Just talked to an official. He scratches one of the two teams at his alma mater because he works with the head coach. Makes sense. But he'd do that no matter what school he graduated from.

You have to scratch for personal reasons. Conner's Jim Hicks has a brother that officiates. Obviously, he scratches Conner. I'd say officials that scratch their alma mater do so for some personal relationship reason.

I'm sorry that you know more refs than me well good for you. You don't have to know all the refs to know that some scratch/choose not to do their alma mater for whatever reason. Oh I forgot I have to take some of the post form people here as gospel my fault. I will tell you this I have had them tell me they scratch themselves from their alma mater and certain games, AGAIN I WILL REPEAT THEY TOLD ME THIS THEMSELVES.

I don't really care whether you value my opinion or not...hope this helped.

Again I said they scratch for whatever reason that's their chose and I was telling you of the ones I know and why they scratch certain teams.

Certain teams, and you know refs don't do certain teams especially the high schools they attended come on you know that.

What you said was: "you know refs don't do certain teams especially the high schools they attended come on you know that." As in All Refs do this for a Fact..

Then, what you said was: "some scratch / choose not to do their alma mater for whatever reason."

You made the comment, and stated it like a fact….now you backtrack and say "some", while also implying that posters on here had no idea what they were talking about. I tried to help educate you about some of the posters, and somehow I'm the bad guy ?

Try to keep up…please try….
