I agree. As with Reid, sometimes it's just time for a change, and it wouldn't surprise me if Marvin hit the ground running with another team (like Reid). However, as the Eagles just learned, hiring the wrong guy could set the Bengals back years. It's a very tricky situation.

I don't think the Eagles have been set back for years.

The niners maybe...

So I guess you'd call 27 years without a playoff win success ?? Keep hoping and feeding Mikey's coffers!

Give me a break. I cannot stand Mike Brown and he does not get a dime from me. I cannot remember the last time I paid for a ticket to a game and have no plans to in the future. Last time I checked Marvin has not been here 27 years either. If you don't think the Bengals are in a much better place since Marvin came than before he was here, you are delusional or have a very short memory. Again, I don't love him. If he goes, I will not be upset. But if you think a coach who goes to the playoffs 5 straight years is awful, I totally disagree. Also, he almost won this year's playoff game with a backup quarterback (NO teams remain in the playoffs right now with backup QB's) and last year his team was so decimated in the playoffs that the best option he had was Rex Birkhead.

Did you even read my initial post which started this thread?? I agree the Bengals are much better off since his arrival; but let's be honest--They had nowhere to go but UP!

My point is simple--Marvin's taken this team as far as he is capable (or Mike will let him)? Simply time for a change, but I'd fear more of the same from a similar hire (Coordinator begging for a head job). NO big name coach will come here under Mikey's rules.

Marvin is what many in the NFL seem to be; fine coordinators, but limited when they have to run the whole show (See Sam Wyche locally). Where are the NFL teams knocking the Bengals' door down to hire him away over the years??

Lets not forget how many coaches Marvin has brought to the Bengals, that have been plucked by other teams for coordinator and HC jobs.

Good point--He has had some success in that department. Interesting with all his "success" I don't recall any other team ever pursuing him??

Maybe because he never said he was interested in leaving Cincy. If you say Im fine where I am at, most teams wont come calling.
