I heard Steven Fitzgerald had three nasty dunks.

Danville played Mercer County and Southwestern at home this week. The Trevon Faulkner/Steven Fitzgerald debate of who is better is officially underway and destined to reach a fever pitch in 2018.

Many people from Danville are saying Fitzgerald is better and many people from Danville are saying Trevon is better. Both of these sophomores left a lasting impression on Danville fans this week.

I've seen Trevon his whole life and multiple times this season. I haven't seen Fitzgerald since this summer. I'll be seeing Fitzgerald soon. I cannot wait.

The 12th Region is in an awesome place talent wise right now.

Treyvon is going to be a GREAT PLAYER. I'm talking another level. I've seen both of these kids play many times. And I don't mean this to detract from Fitzgerlad at all. He's probably a top 5 to 7 player in the region as a sophomore and will only move up the next two years. Also, keep in mind that Treyvon isn't close to being fully mature at this point. He's a year and a half to two years younger.

On a more important note, is the score indicative of how close the game was? Anyone have the scores at the quarter stops?

I don't have scores at quarter stops, but Danville was only down 5 after Jakobi Turner made a shot just over half court to end the 3rd quarter. Much of the game was fought in the 5-10 point range, with Danville having several opportunities to get much closer but not being able to make some open threes. The margin grew near the end of the fourth when Danville made three consecutive careless turnovers.

I was quite impressed by Southwestern, though, and sort of liked their team more than Mercer County, but both are really good teams and if they play in the regional tournament it should be a great game.

The MVPs of the game for Danville were Spencer McKinney and Gerald Miller, who did a pretty good job guarding the inside in the second half.

Guarding the inside against SW just don't sound right. They play all guards lol
