I always look forward to the computer generated ranking models, specifically the Herald Leader's and Courier Journal's as both have been around for some time. Everyone has their opinions about who should be ranked where, but these are free of bias.

 

Their one major limitation is they cannot factor in players missing games due to injuries or sickness. Otherwise, they're pretty comprehensive.

 

Obviously, they don't mirror each other as they likely assign different weights to things. However, I do see a lot of similarities in the 2 rankings, at least at the top.

Owen County beats Henry Clay and South Laurel and its only losses are to Trinity and Ballard and they fall out of the Top 25. Also, Cantrell has them as the 3rd best team in the 8th region. CRAZY low.

I'm pretty sure these rankings don't count games against out of state opponents.

Litkenhous does not count games against out-of-state opponents. Not sure about the Herald-Leader ratings.

I love seeing NewCath with the #20 ranking, but even I think there are a few teams that deserve that spot right now.

Cov Cath should not be above Cooper. Just knocked off Elder 47-45,not to mention beating CC. yes first game of season but that's not an excuse. Guarantee the boys didn't play differently than they will late in the season.
