This is why I asked last night about OSU being a lock for Pasadena.

How can that possibly be justified. That's horrible. They gave it to Iowa for a feel good story.

Same W/L.

Played the championship to the wire. They proved they belonged.

I said it last night in the game thread that I came away more impressed with Iowa than MSU. But they don't deserve to be ahead of OSU. That's just ignorant. I expected Stanford to be just because they are champs, but I don't think they should be ahead either, but it wouldn't have mattered. I wanted Stanford, not Notre Dame. I want to play the best.

Same W/L plus they made the championship game.

Same W/L.

But loss to the same team and Ohio State loss by less if you want to be technical. But I don't actually think that should matter. I just don't think Ohio State should have dropped in the rankings when they didn't play and fall behind a team that lost. Stanford and Ohio State are the 3rd and 4th best teams in the country and I wanted to see them play.

I know I'm just being a bitter Ohio State fan, but I just really wanted to play Stanford. In other news, this OU- Ohio State game next year is going to be epic. Especially if OU wins the CFP like I expect them too.

Then you are penalizing Iowa for making the championship game. I think Ohio State is better but I think this was the right call.

So it's the right call because Iowa had a great season for the first time in forever? "Ohio State has great seasons all the time so Iowa deserves it more", is basically what you are saying. You said it yourself Ohio State is better. Aren't the rankings supposed to be based on which teams are the best?

So NOW how good they are matters. You recently said its about the record. They now have the same record and one made the championship game. By your previous stance Iowa should get the nod.

You think Stanford is the third best team in the country with two losses? The same team that was losing at home with 30 seconds ledt to a Notre Dame team that you think was overrateed all year? Which they had to make a last second field goal to win that and yet you think they are a top 4 team?

Talent wise OSU is a top 4 team and probably most talented in the country. However it is based on what teams have done on the field. OSU looked impressive in one game and lost at home to msu who had a backup qb. While Iowa won all their games and you think they should be penalized for losing on a neutral site by a closer score to the same msu team that beat OSU but also had their starting qb this game? Iowa shouldn't be penalized for playing in the championship game and losing while OSU gets rewarded for sitting at home since they couldn't make the big ten championship.
